Considering Coralife skimmer good idea?

I'm looking for a decent hang on tank skimmer
Are these SUPER skimmers all that super or what?
FEEDBACK GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went with the Aqua C remora and love it. I have seen several over the last week here on RC.

I bought the CSS65 off ebay and think its the best in this price range. Im running it in sump so cant tell ya about micro bubbles retuning to tank or leaking.

I had the CSS65 when I started my cube. Right out of the box the thing would be skimming great then all of a sudden it would freak out and the collection cup would nearly overflow! Four seperate times it almost flooded my living room. Coralife attempted to fix it but couldn't figure out what was wrong. I managed to return it for a full refund and got a used Remora for less money and I love it!

It will overflow if the water surface suddenly go up.
I have it running(65) in my 20G sump works great.
However I would not recommend it if you are going to install HOB cause it takes up lots of space.

I think I have the 125 one, works pretty well for the price, Previous poster is right, it is a picky/tricky skimmer, sometimes it will not reach over into the collection cup, other times, it'll boil over like a volcano. What I've found is it is very finicky with the height changes and that red dial only needs a very little tweak, any more and you will over do it one way or the other. Run it in the sump is best otherwise it is an eyesore and may have a lot of bubbles. Also don't count on the collection cup, drain it into something larger. Don't recall if the 65 model has the cup w/ the drain option.

When ever it has over flowed it has been from the airline clogging with salt at the orfice in the pump. I have to agree with the others tho, this skimmer should be run in a sump. I wouldnt own a hang on tank.

It work pretty good if your not using a glass top. If your using a glass top it probably won't fit. It does take a lot of space. If your looking for hang-on, I got the Bak Pak CPR and it works fine. I recommend the remora. Depends on your budget. But the Corallife does skim alot better than the CPR.

the remora seems to be a favorite for hang in tank use
but i read some ultra long threads that said theyre noisy
among other complaints
any truth to that cuz the tank will probly be in my bedroom

ive been exposed to alot of coradictory info in the forums
i appreciate everyone's opinion
