Continuous QT

I have a continuous QT setup. Right now have a pair of occys and a 6 line on week two of cupramine. Questions is after the 4 weeks and when I remove them and put them in the DT do I need to remove cupramine before I QT a fourth fish, so as to bring levels up slowly.. Or can I dunk a new fish in the QT and start another 4 weeks immediately?

It would be best to remove as much of the Cupramine as possible, and then slowly bring it back up after the new fish is added. A lot of fish don't tolerate "copper shock" (if you want to call it that) very well.

Also, coming from someone who used to maintain a continuous QT; it's only a matter of time before you lose a fish to some unknown "Typhoid Mary", and that will make you hesitate to put any new fish in there without completely breaking it down. Just my 2 cents.

I usually break down and clean my QT between fish additions. I keep seeded media like Seachem Matrix in a media bag in my sump and pop it in the HOB filter when new fish arrive.

I agree with all of the above.
I think too much copper or copper introduced too quickly is the #1 reason some folks have trouble with this med. Unless its an emergency; get fish eating first, then slowly add copper. If a fish stops eating, its often a sign of copper sensitivity.
