Control QT and DT with Ranco?

So I got my Ranco today and I'm wiring up, when I had a light bulb.

Can I use this thing to control the heater in my QT as well? Like keep the probe in the DT sump, control the two heaters in the sump, and run the heater cord from the QT over to the Ranco?

This way the QT temp and the display temp will always be the same.

Is this correct or am I missing something?

You're missing something. The heater in the QT won't heat the water at the same rate as the heater in the DT, so you'll either bake the QT if the heater in there heats the water faster than the DT, or you'll freeze the QT if the heater in there doesn't heat as fast as the heater in the DT.

Ah crap I never thought of that. I wonder how you could do it?

The only option is to use two temperature controllers set to the same temp. (Or one controller with two probes... The apex could do that)
