I continuously see people putting big fish in little tanks. Can we start a list of cool fish and inverts for smaller tanks? I'm not that experienced as some of you but there are some real neat animals that can go in smaller tanks. I particularly like the inverts. List colourful, playful, fun to watch...

- clownfish; colourful and full of personality
- cleaner shrimp; colourful, fun to watch, interesting, comical
- blue legged hermts; fun to watch and active
- figure 8 puffer; not reef safe and not community but a great brackish fish that seems to do better in salt than fresh
- redtail butterfly; seen a few of these and think their colour is spectacular for a 55 gallon.

Rainsford goby or bicolor blenny.

Rainsford (jester) goby is great cause mine tends to build little forts and hides in them.

Blenny, well, because he's comical and tends to perch around and watch what you do.

Or maybe a longnose/flame hawkfish if you want a fish that perches on stuff like blennies. They're not great w/inverts though...

As always, I highly recommend the Cardinalfish, I prefer Bangaii's but they are not a true reef fish, coming more from open seagrass beds and whatnot, but as harmless and reef safe as they come.

Gummi: I believe the puffer you are refering too is brackish as an adolescent, but once an adult moves on out to sea, full saltwater. I may be wrong, but that's what the brain is telling me.
