Where do i get some cooling fans for my canopy that i can hook up to a aqua controller? What size? What cfm? Thanks ryan

I've seen many suggest using PC fans. They are made for moving hot air out of tight spaces efficiently and constantly. For example, frozenpcu.com sells them.

I got some from radioshack a few years ago. As much CFM as you can find. You'll want to get 120vac rather than 12vdc.

You'll find out. I had a few over my 75. Start with 1 or 2 and adjust based on performance.

so if i put them on an aquacontroller i only want 1 or 2 i was planning on putting 2 in each end so mthey blow across the top of the water?

I assume you only want as many as are needed to be effective. I said start with 1 or 2 because I don't know how many will be needed to keep your tank cool. Only one way to find out. Wire them up and give them a try.

120vac can be wired up with an extension cord. 12vdc needs a converter. I like things simple.

True, I have so many old 12V adapters laying around in the house from devices long gone it wasn't a big deal. I found looking at 120V fans there was a much smaller selection and they were more expensive. My hood currently has two radio shack 120V fans, they are VERY noisy. But they are old, I didn't put them in, so they may have been quiet when installed. Jerry would have to answer this.

Nope, They were noisy. That's why I like everything behind the wall now. I can't hear anything but the nagging of my wife.

Wait.....Joel, I need those fans back. :D

Try to use your fans as blow in only as a fan pulling damp salt air out does not last long and gets loud in a hurry.

The one 120v fan I had was extremely loud. I have no idea whether they all are or not, but if it were me, I would be looking for the quietest one you can find.

Very true, they also do a better job this way, moving air across the water surface will create evaporative cooling, you'll need to add more topoff water, but it will lower the temp more.
