Cooling question JBJ 28G CF-Quad

I just set up my JBJ Nano 28G CF-Quad and the temperatures have been ranging from 76-83 degrees. It had normally been around the 78-80 range but just recently started rising and hit 83 for the first time yesterday. I've been getting mixed opinions on whether I should get a chiller or not and would much rather not if there are cheaper options. I looked into fans but I have no idea how I would install them because the tank has a canopy. The area in the back currently has the JBJ Nano Skimmer and a Marineland heater so there doesn't look like there's much space back there. I would love some feedback and ideas about what I can do to keep the tank cool. Thanks everyone!

Are you keeping any species that require a cooler temp? 83 is about the average temp of all reefs and is nothing to worry about.

According to LiveAquaria, most of the my planned inhabitants require a temperature of 72-78 degrees

According to LiveAquaria, everything has 72-78 degrees. Which is rubbish, they have that same temp on just about everything, even shallow water corals and hermit crabs. There are cooler water species, but most reef inhabitants are used to higher temps.

Lol if that's the case, no need for a cooler then? I live in Covina, CA I'm worried the temperatures are going to get hotter than this. Do you think trying to install a fan in the back over the media basket is going to work if it gets any hotter?

In order for a fan to work, air has to pass in and out of the hood. The fan will help greatly as long as it is moving air, most of those hoods aren't really designed to move air but I am sure someone has modded one to do just that. My tanks have hit 85-86 over the years with zero issues.

Okay, thanks for the advice. We're going to hold off on the chiller and try to figure out some way to install a fan if temps start to rise
