Hi Guys.. Just have a question about copper(cupramine),i wanted a Harlequin tusk for a long time, i went to the Lfs 3 weeks ago and they had one, but i didnt buy it, went a week after and it was still there, looked great, then went a week after, and it was still there, so i decided to buy it! No signs of ick or any other parasite! Took it home and started Qt with Cupramine, 3 days after, Ick appears!, heres my question, does Copper pushes(kick them out, lol) parasite out the of fish?

Thanks
Mike

Cupramine at a concentration between 0.35-0.5 should do the trick. Leave him in Cupramine for 4 weeks to ensure it kicks them all out.

The Tusk likely had ICH, but wasn't showing any external signs. Copper wil stress the fish at which point the ICH becomes noticable to us. I would continue with the Cupramine dose and keep your water perams stable. Feed the fish a varitey of foods soaked in garlic and selcon to aid in boosting the immune system.

The other alternative is to do the TT method. There is a great thread on here breaking it down.

Most fish stores run fish systems with low dose of copper. That's most likely reason you won't see the ich on the fish. As you take it home ich will show itself. Continue with the treatment for a good 4 weeks should fix it. I run my cupramine concentration at 0.35
