Copper in distilled water

These are my completely unscientific observations with distilled water. When I purchased my Milwaukee refractometer, it stated to used only distilled and not ro/di water, so I purchased a gallon of distilled from a national drug store chain. As I played with the refractometer, I was not getting consistent results using commercial specific gravity and ppt salinity sample controls. After e-mails to Milwaukee customer service, they sent me a sample of their distilled water to calibrate the refractometer. After calibrating with the new water, the results were quite consistent. I then repeated all measurements using Milwaukee`s distilled, drug store distilled and my own home made distilled water. Every time I used the drug store distilled water the results were inconsistent. This tells me the drug store water was not very pure. Now I only use home made distilled.
