coppersafe for ich

any body use coppersafe for ich?? Can I just run it in my tank forever to prevent ich again.

I've used it with mixed results. It got rid of the ich but it has now returned. I'm thinking it was in the DT and reinfected my fish. I used it in the QT and didn't see any more spots for over a month.

I would not use it in your DT if you're ever planning on keeping inverts or corals as they will die. The copper will seep into the rocks and kill your live rock as well.

IMO Coppersafe is just as effective as Cupramine, just not as safe to use. I wouldn't run either in a tank permanently as copper is poison and most fish can only take it for so long. I think I read somewhere that long-term exposure to copper can damage the central nervous system of a fish. You don't want all your fish acting like Tweek from South Park, do you?
