coral beauty angel

2 years ago i baught my sister a crested gecko. Now she decides she doesnt want it anymore. So i figured i would try and get some store credit. I took it to my lfs which also sells reptiles and traded it for a coral beauty. Its settling in nicely but does anyone have experiemce with them? Will they eat seaweed from a clip or should i just feed mysis, brine and some type of vegetable or rely on it picking algae off the rock instead of the seaweed

Feed it a varied diet like you would any other omnivore. I'll bet it will eventually eat nori from the clip, but it will also graze. Skip the brine shrimp.

I fed mine in addition to the above diet, the frozen pygmy angel formula from Ocean Nutrition. It made him color up nicely.

Mine eats a little of everything I add to the tank, and I also see it picking at rocks all day long. It's a pretty nice little angel - always out and about and easy to take care of. Mine has never bothered coral.

Mine did hide a lot when I had a Moorish Idol. After some recent tank complications (of course the Idol was the only fish to be lost :\) my coral beauty is out a lot more. Night and day difference!

I only had mine for about two years, but he/she was doing great and ruled the tank while I had it. I had a carbon overdose / bacterial bloom which ended up killing lots of stuff. I had removed my fish to smaller tanks, but the Idol just didn't make it. Great fish with a neat personality, though I'm not sure I will be getting another one.
