Coral Beauty/ Copper?

I bought a long fin fairy wrasse and a coral beauty from LA the other day. I have them both in a 20 gal QT now. Just wondering if it would be safe to treat them both with coppersafe? I have use coppersafe for a long time with other marine fish with good success. Just curious with the coral beauty. I monitor my copper very carefully.

Should be OK, although I know most folks prefer Cupramine, which has an effective range at lower concentrations. Just raise your copper level very slowly, over several days. Keep a close eye on the angel. If he stops eating for more than a few days or starts looking bad, take the copper out ASAP.

Thanks for the info. I used copper on a coral beauty when I bought one about 4 years ago. That was before I had read not to use copper on angels fish and it did fine. I did'nt know if maybe I luck out or if it OK to do it again. I will keep a close eye on it. Thanks

If ich is your main concern; I think tank transfer is the way to go. But copper also will cure velvet. All dwarf Angels are copper-sensitive; but can usually handle it. Like b0bab0ey, I really like Cupramine---their tech support is great. Coppersafe has a good rep too. It sounds like you know copper, but just some opinion: I like to get fish eating before adding any copper; if they stop, its the first sign of copper problems. I also take several days to add the full dose of copper and keep it at that level for 4 weeks. Cupramine is completely effective at a lower dose than instructed, I think this is true with CopperSafe.

Thanks for the heads up Mr. Tuskfish on making sure the fish are eating well before I treat them. So far the coral beauty is eating well and the long fin fairy wrasse is still adjusting to the new enviroment but it is eating. I will wait a few more days for him.
