Coral beauty lying on the floor

Everything in water is fine but my Nitrate where its 40, I'm doing a quick water change right now.
Coral beauty is just lying on the floor but then he tries to swim then back on the floor, he's breathing still though, what should I do to treat him? what cause this? was it my Nirtate? All my other fish (1 clownfish, 1 cardinal fish, 1 filefish, and 1 mcoscker) are doing fine

How long if you had him, its not your no3.

Is the fish new to the tank? I don't think nitrate had anything to do with it, 40 ppm isnt very high at all for fish only.

Sounds like acclimation problems.

How new is he? How did you acclimate him?

OR it sounds like collection problems like with cyanide that is more often used to collect them. Fish that are collected this way usually don't live more than a few months, they will all of a sudden die and you can't figure out why, in most cases it's due to the collection using cyanide.

40 nitrates didn't kill your fish.
