Coral beauty pair

I am going to take the chance and add a coral beauty. I always like to add fish in pairs and I know I'd be taking a risk. Is it worth the try (if I add one larger)?

I was able to get my potters angels semi pairs by getting a medium and a small one from Live Aquaria. I QTd them in the same 10g tank with a clear screen seperating them.

It took a couple weeks, but they get along now and are often together in the tank.

I got 2 very small coral beauties, with one slightly larger. One chased the other for about 1-2 weeks and there were times I wanted to separate them but then they got along and now they are paired. The slightly larger one never tried to kill the smaller, but just chased it alot. They are in a 120.

Yes, you're doubling your risk but I'd trust pymgy angels in general to probably not decimate your corals. They might nip here and there, but in my opinion they're worth the risk.

As long as you can separate them during QT (even just a 10g tank with a divider) I'm sure you can get them to accept each other, if not pair up.

Make sure you start with a larger one and a small one - the smaller the better. They'll do their thing (probably)

Captive bred coral beauty's are available at the mo, I have one in my 90.

Might be a good option if you want to add more than one as they are meant to be less aggressive to conspecifics than wild caught. I was tempted to get 3, until I saw the price...

Had mine for 6 weeks and so far its been reef-safe with my softies.

Where did you get yours?

Its from Biota, to the best of my knowledge they are the only people breeding coral beautys at the mo. I'm in the UK and theres one wholesaler here who imports Biota stock, I'm sure there are probably a few in the US so may be worth asking your LFS
