Coral feeding

Hi everyone!
A friend recommended that I should be feeding something called PhytoFeast to feed my corals.

Currently, I have mushrooms, zoas, ric, some gsp and button polyps. I have a few snails and a couple hermits, and one clownfish in my 10 g with 32 watts (I know, not that much). I feed the clownfish 1-2 times daily, alternating with frozen mysis shrimp, Cyclopeeze and Spectrum pellets. I also just picked up some Rod's Food.

Do I need to be supplementing or feeding my corals something? They seem to be doing well, although not growing all that much, but I assumed that was due to my lack of lighting.

Thanks!

I would say especially since you say you have a lack of lighting, that I would recommend some type of phyto food weather it's dt's or phyto feast but something. I have plenty of lighting and still direct feed my corals

I agree that it's lack of lighting. I find that my zoas/palys/button polyps like to eat frozen cyclopeeze and also the smaller particles of Rod's food. I feed them via a pipette a few times a week. I fed DTs for a while too, but once I started having some serious algae issues (which may or may not be related) I stopped.

Aha! What would I do without you guys?? I recently asked at my LFS, and they said no.... I can't trust them on anything! Thanks for the info.

Anyone have a specific recommendation on food? Will the Rod's Food be sufficient?

I did the store locator for DT's Phytoplankton and there's nothing while I'm up here in Champaign, but I should be able to pick some up on St. Louis when I'm there this weekend. My LFS does carry Kent Phytoplex. I feel bad I haven't been feeding them!

Ok and this is going to sound sort of dumb, but I figured it's better to ask. I just get a pipette and squirt the food at the center of the corals? Any other special techniques?

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it!

Rods food and FROZEN cyclopeeze is what I use. The pipette thing works really well, but I wouldn't use too much force when squirting food at the corals. My zoas close up if I accidently blast them and then they don't get any food!

yea I use a turkey baster and blow it out slowly near them, and I perfer dt's over kents
