I've got a piece of dead coral that i found in the ocean. I wanted to add it to my tank. I've heard of boiling it in water or something, in order to kill the bacteria or anything on it that could cause harm to my tank. Has anyone done this, or have any other methods to "condition" it. Thanks!

I've got lots of bleached coral skeleton. Soak it in diluted bleach water for a day or two then change to clean water and soak for another day or so. Then take it out and let it sit and air dry for a day or so. Any little bit of bleach on it should evaporate.
Or I suppose you can just use white vinegar as well. You'll want to use more though.
