Hi Guys!
I have some corals that are forming that are hitch hikers from some live rocket i bought. I dont know if there a good thing or bad thing.

One of hte Corals Look like an Anenomea
The Other one is Green ToadStool looking Coral.

What are these 2 new speciments? are they both ok, or should i remove them from my tank.

Number 1 is an aptasia as far as i can see. Remove them or else they will become a real pest. Number 2 is fine, they look like palythoas (I see some aptasia in and around the palys).

I personally inject aptasia through the stem with lemon juice, but the safest way would be to take the rock out, pour boiling water over it and leave it out for a day, if you can afford to kill everything else on that specific rock.

Lemon juice works though, id give it a try :)

#1 looks like it COULD be the carribean version of aiptasia, aka curly cue. The ones i've seen don't have the long arms of the bad kind. They don't generally reproduce like rabbits and take over a tank. I've had 2 in the past that hitchhiked on tbs rock. I would keep an eye on it, destroy with extreme prejudice at the first sign of reproducing.

I don't know if I would risk it unless I knew for certain the rock was fresh caribbean rock.

That's what I was thinking too. My rock came from TBS and I have one of those guys and they are fine and don't reproduce like crazy or cause problems.
