coral spawning or dying or ... ?

I just got home, looked at my tank and ... one of my candycane corals is acting weird. I've got two candycane frags, one looks fat and puffed up and very healthy. the other one has two heads (=polyps). the "mouth" on each head is open as far as it can, and every 15 seconds or so it "exhales" and brown stuff comes out. some of it looks smokey and floats away, some of it is gooey-er and is hovering around the mouth. at this point each head is as deflated as it can get, it looks like. all of my other corals (frogspawn, blastomussa and mushrooms) are doing fine except for one mushroom whose mouth is also kinda open and it looks like something might be coming out of it (hard to tell).

what on earth is going on?

Sounds like it is spawning to me. Must be that time of the year cause my torch coral is spitting out eggs with some zooxanthalle tonight.
