coralife aqualight power center opinions

Hi, I bought that exact one last week, Im only using it for lights, and I dont have a problem with it, seems to be accurate and on time...works great, dont have to worry which lights go on, which go off, and so on....

I have one as well, works good. Over months it does get off by a few minutes. Only problem I've had is that my light has 2 transformer blocks so I couldn't fit all the plugs in where I wanted.

Well, the reaction from a lot of people will probably be to say that these are a fire hazard after a lot of stories came up a while back of fires resulting from their use. I've never used one myself so I can't attest to their usefulness (though if they work as advertised I would imagine they're pretty handy), but I have heard third-hand of horror stories about them, I don't know how substantial those fears are. I just use several digital or dial timers, which take up more space. Do a search for them and judge the risk yourself (if there is any risk, hard to tell with the way rumors go or if coralife has changed the manufacturing on them). I do use some other coralife products, including PC lighting which is well-made.

I had two, both failed to turn my lights off after a couple of months of use.

same here. Some nights i would get home at 3 or 4 in the morning and my lights would still be on. The timer would get stuck at 8pm and stop clicking. I wouldnt recommend using them.

I had one that worked fine for 8 months before I bought my Aquacontroller Jr.

In my opinion if you make sure it is in a dry location and in a GFI outlet that the risk of fire is much less.
