At my LFS, i asked if they had a used calcium reactor for sale. (Im just starting to keep corals and there isnt a big demand for calcium but i plan on getting more and just wanted to start eairly.) My LFS said that they have some but they also have a new coralife calcium reactor in the box and said that they would sell it for 65.00$ thats real cheap, its mainly because they have had it on the shelf for at least a year. (someone ordered it and never picked it up) I have heard that people have had problems with them leaking. any advise?? im a college student with lots of bills and little free cash, so i was real interested in the reactor because its cheap... and i know that cheap is not always a good thing. help

$65 is only the start of that project. You still need a regulator, co2 tank, media, etc. Still talking a couple hundred to complete the unit. Honestly, for that price it's got to be the smaller unit, which is going to struggle trying to keep up with a system of your size anyway...

my suggestion and because i had one as my first reactor...you get what you pay for. if you can afford to go with something better I would. Koralin and GEO are two great brands.

he has a regulater and and all the stuff to go with it minus a co2 tank for a 100$ but thats a used regulator. i am still thinking about getting a different one but wanted some other opinions. ( i only have 3 frags in my tank right now. its kind of bare and my calcium is always around 450. always has been. im just planing ahead because i want more) thanks for the no go.... i was thinking it was too good to be true anyways. i will just keep saving and looking at the sale forums
