coralife reactor

I believe I read in a thread recently that you are currently using one of these so I figured I would ask here. First I was wondering if it would be ok use my enaly 200mg/h unit with the reactor? I know it states up to 100 mg/h, which is why I am asking. Second can it be used externally, as in out of the sump completely? I have no room left. The reason I am considering the reactor is because my aqua-c just dose'nt skim anything out for days now if the ozone is run. I have tried to reduce the amount of ozone going to it with tee's and pinch valves but the skimmer just seems to sensitive to even the smallest amounts of ozone. Literally going skimmateless for days. I am using a controller and my orp is around 325. Would the reactor be a good way to go?

Thanks,
Adam

Do you already have it? It is quite poor quality, IMO, and I don't recommend it. Some plastic parts were breaking after only a few days of trying to get it working.

That said, yes it can be used outside of a sump. I do, but I have it sitting in a 5 gallon bucket for those times when leaks and or hoses popping off happened. In sump would alleviate some of those concerns.

I expect you can use it with higher O3 addition rates, but either the contact time will be reduced (with higher water flow),or more of the O3 may just be wasted. Tha said, I do not know how Coralife came up with those numbers, nor whether they are optimal.

I have not heard the best word when it comes to coralife period.Someone bought that reactor and returned it,to many leaks. My friend has the ro/di unit it sucks he sold it.I have used some of there products very cheap. The only product I say is good is the super skimmer. It works great and its cheap. Its no high end skimmer though.

I agree, I am still waiting for my 2nd replacment timer power strip. The thing is I don't even want it. And no I haent bought the reactor yet and I wont be anytime in the future either. Thanks

If you want a good reactor I have heard nothing but good words on this site from people who have the Koraline.I thought of buying one but since using Randys formulas I find it works great and I have no problems.

yes I was referring to the ozone reactor. I have turned off the ozone for now anyway. Honestly I went over a week without a drop of skimmate. Now finally this morning after about 24 hours without any ozone I can see some actual foam beginning to accumulate. I am convinced that aqua-c's and enaly's are not the best combination. They just produce to much ozone to use in conjunction with the "patented spray" method. Otherwise the skimmer does work quite well. Maybe I will pick up an adjustable ozonizer sometime but not too soon.

Thanks for the info regardless,
Adam
