FWIW I've had one for about a year and I don't think it has ever overflowed. It runs good and it was pretty cheap. Not as cheap as this one though.

i would not use this as a hang on back skimmer due to its large size..... (thats wat you mean when you say HOT right?)

other than that, it is a super skimmer
