I set up my tank about 2 weeks now.The nitroge cycle is done, but the water is still "foggy" not as the beginning but is not cristal clear yet. I've been trying Coralife Tank Marine Clarifier, but seems that is not working too good. Do you guys have any experience with this item or what do you suggest me to do?

Typically the nitrogen cycle will take longer than that, 4-6 weeks on average. Exceptions would be adding established filter media or cured live rock which may speed it up. Are ammonia and nitrite 0ppm? What are your nitrate levels?

I am not familiar with that product. What type of substrate do you have? Did you rinse it?Some fine substrates can cause clouding that takes a while to settle out.

Any other info. on size, filtration and inhabitants and decor would be helpful.

i dont recommend any kind of clarifier for SW. theres no need for it. since your tank is still new, its probably just some type of bacteria bloom and should go away on its on in another week or two. in the mean time, i have a couple of questions, first what type of filtration are you using? do you have LR in the tank? are you using sand for a substrate, if so how much, and what kind?

I'm using a cannister filter with media and carbon. I have about 6 pounds of live rock in it, and in the biginning I used exclusively live sand. As now I have 3 clown fishes and a yellow tang, they seem to be doing pretty well.

im going to be the first to say SLOW DOWN! :) your tank is only 2 weeks old, and you have 4 fish. the tang police is going to be all over you about a tang in a 40g. tangs do need their space, but more importantly, they carry a large bio-load on the tank. even when they are tiny. i would recommend finding a new home for it soon.

3 clowns is not a good number either. they should always be kept in even numbers. one of them is going to be the odd one out, and the other two will pick on it until it dies.

im not a fan of cannister filters in SW tanks, but with only 6lbs of LR, you need something. keep your carbon fresh. the tank should clear up on its own. chances are the cloudiness is from having a big bio-load on a new tank. keep your levels checked! mainly ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates. if the first two are at anything above 0ppm, your fish could be in trouble!

dont mean to sound harsh, im just stating the facts :D.
