Coraline algae

if your orraline is dying its the chemistry of the water thats off -- marine depot catalog says optimum corraline growth needs 2-5 watts per gallon and iodine, etc minerals

ive used purple up and reef vital --work fine if you can afford it use supplements, but I notice the colors kick in after the water chemistry stabilizes

I have been experimenting with coralline in a quanatine tank. I noticed this:

PC light (both 55watt and 96watt) 10K and blue combo = good coralline growth

PC light (96watt 10K and Blue) with NO Actinic white = Tremendous growth and color

High intensity incadescent 5500 and 6500K (floods and spots) = some bleaching and decreased growth.

I have been playing with this for a few months. And so far the combo of PC and NO flourescent is winning out. I am trying three T6 NO Lighting rods right now. I will follow up with progress.
