i was wondering how ppl get there nice purple coraline algae. would purple help get it? or should i add calcium?
also, what do ppl use to supply there corals with trace elements?
do you guys use things like iron and coral-vite? jw.

Coraline should develope with proper lighting, Alk, and Calcium levels. I use a Kent Vitamin supplement, Coral Vite, and Stron/ Molyb additives at about 20% what is called for.

first thing is, do you already have corraline algae in your tank???, like on rocks???, if so, then just get calcium to 400-450 ppm, alk to 8-10dkh and magnesium to 1300-1500, good light and you are all set, if you balance all the parameters you will get an explosion of coralline algae that will get you to start cursing on how to get it off of your glass, lol
