Tank is 3 months old and not seeing much coraline algea growth yet. Not sure if that is because I started with dry rock cycled with shrimp of because calcium is too low or just simply too early. Calcium tests at 380-390, ph is 8.2-8.3 and alk is around 9 dKH. I know i have introduced it on snails and small peices of live rock with soft corals attached but I see none developing on rear glass and only a few small spots on power heads. also, does the developement of coraline help reduce other unwanted algea growth. All comments appreciated

it takes time. if u scrub the existing coraline algae, it can help spread it faster. keep up good water quality, and eventually it will start to grow.

scrape a little off and seed another rock, when u have enough to satisfy an emerald crab get one, the 3 ive had all eat coraline, i watched them and they dont eat it all and they are basically spreading the coraline for u :) at least thats how its working in my tank, also good circulation

interesting. my tank is over two years old and i notice i have it all over the back of my tank. on the new heater and over a couple rocks. but not others. they are all the same type of rock purcased together when i started the tank. what's up with that?
