I have recived some rock incrusted with purple coralline on it , but in my tank it seems to want to change colors, I like the deep purple is there a way to keep the color? my rock seems to want to take the liter colors white, pint and light blue. any sugestions to help keep the dark purple?

try Kelvin rated bulbs of 14K or 20K, that will stop some of the bleaching. also check your parameters in the Alk. Ca. Mg. areas. that will have an effect also.

The really dark purple coralline does better in lower lighting. Under MHs, especially 250s and 400s, it's almost impossible to keep the rocks purple. On the brighter side, eventually you'll probably find under brighter situations that maroons, silvers, and greens are the predominant colors. Next time you watch a documentary that shows reefs, look closely at the coralline, you'll most likely find that this is mimicked on TV. ;)
