Corals and Aggressive fish

Have a Dedicated Aggressive tank with mostly Triggers. I would like to grow some corals as well if possible.

Does anyone have input on what type may survive.

I was TOLD that certain leathers were naturally bitter and would survive but dont know for sure. I also was told that they would graze on polyps and xenia like cattle on grass.

Any help would be appreciated :bum:

sorry I keep forgeting the right questions to get responses in this forum

lets try it again

DUHH...... I have a NANO 24 gallon tank, I plan to house a bandit shark and some lion fish in it. will I be able to successfully grow soft corals in the same tank :eek1:

Haha yea i hear ya buddy, The fact is your both wrong and right on this one that is the same case with some coral fish combinations but the nature of this problom is it may very well be diffrent for each specis of fish and specis of coral combination. Im afraid i will have to give you the ole there is no 100% generalization this may require very specific research or trial and error on your part.

Well................ All my research keeps leading me toward artificial decorations.

I suppose the answer IS kinda staring me in da face but I figured with so many species of corals, surely something has evolved to survive with aggressive fish. Perhaps not . Thanks for your input though. :bum:

No doubt their are but fact as there are too many factors: from a specis adaptation to captivity to the acual personality of the specis. However there are undoubtably rules of nature that apply here but they would have to be anylized on a case by cade basis. One thing is for sure though no one knows till they try it esp in such a specilized ecosystem as an aquarium you could be on to something.

Def try the aggresive fourm while you followed the general rules of this form posting in the soft coral fourm many dont and this could be border line i suppose. But i am sure some of the guys there have some acual personal experience witch is much more disrable then the textbook mumbo jumbo i can provide.

Good luck.

Yeah that would make sense to try there first - way ahead of you on that one. shot this same question there bout a month ago - not a response yet - found that most people there were too busy discussing their "proposed dream tanks", bashing some newbe for inquiring on putting a shark in a 125 tank, or quoting their last FACE to FACE conversation with Eric Borneman. Boy he apparently really gets around

Thanks anywho tiger I'll keep reading on the subject before I try it :bum:
