I am running two white and blue 50/50ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s (10000K/7100K) and one Actinic bulb with my coral tank.
I am unhappy with the color, everything looks bleached out too me and lacks the color richness I prefer. I tried switching to two Actinicââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s and one 10000K this afternoon and liked the way it looked much more.
My corals (all softies) have been doing well and reproducing.
My question is: If I changed to the two Actinic and the one 10000k would this shift in spectrum be detrimental to my coral? I have been told that corals would actually be better off with just Actinic light and that the daylight colors are really just for our human eyes benefit. Is this true?
Long question short... is 70% Actinic and 30% Daylight a practical and beneficial option?
Thanks,
Mark
