Coralvue Problems! Help...

I have 3 coralvue ballasts and 2 of them have gone bad. I purchased them about 2-3 years ago, but my setup was torn down and they were only used for about 8 months. When i originally bought them one went bad within the first month, they had me mail the bad one in and sent me a new one. Now after sitting in a box for 2 years i decided to setup my tank again. 2 are working fine and one smells like its on fire!

Model # of ballast: CV - 250110

These are electronic ballasts, what is the deal?

Has anyone else had these problems?

I bought them from Hellolights.com and am going to contact them on this issue. 2 ballast bad within an 8 month time of operation, not a good product.

How long do you think the other 2 that are working will last.....any guesses? LOL

If I buy new it wont be Coralvue unless they stepup and fix these.
 
This is ridiculous, I have read other forums and other people with the same results....Did you buy yours from Hellolights.com also?
 
Im thinking of just switching ballasts but they should be under warranty.....im going to contact coralvue for that.....wouldnt you think also?
 
Ya i dont have a reciept but im hoping that hellolights can have a record of when i bought it.....my point is that they might be older than 3 years not much, but i have only used them for 8 months outta the 3 years i have had them.......and still have that many problems!
 
I hear about way too many problems regarding Coralvue's electronic ballast.

You should contact Coralvue direct and see if they will help you if Hello Lights cannot.

I've had mine for about 3 years and it still works fine. One thing I found is that there can't be too much cord in between the ballast and the pendant, and also if the ballast gets shut off, you have to wait 7 or 8 minutes before you restart it. Sorry yours doesn't work. Hope you get it figured out.
