Cost comparison?

I was wondering what is your cost comparison to run a NPC tank to a mixed reef tank. How much toll does it take to constantly feed your corals? What salt is best especially since you need to do biweekly water changes? I see you can save with lighting, but eventually that food cost will equal that I'm assuming.

Well, mine is $60 per year so far, but I have a very small collection of NPC, it will definitely go way up when my collection gets bigger.

Personally I do not perform biweekly water changes.

Cost of feeding, depends ... I spend maybe something like 60 every 2 months ... sometimes less sometimes more, hard to tell.

The real cost that comes with NPC's IMO is your time. Compared to SPS or LPS or softies, you could be spending an hour or two a night feeding/cleaning.

Once again, depends on what you choose - Coral & set up.

Between the Tubastrea, Dendrophyllia, Rhizotrochus and Balanophyllia that are fed daily -

And the gorgonians, feather star and Dendronephthya that are fed continuously -

And the daily water changes -

I could be having prime steak and lobster 3x's a day instead (ok I'm exaggerating a little). But it's all about priorities, some would say mine are kinda messed up.

Oh yeah and SanJuan is 100% correct with the time. For me, it's not just the feeding and maintenance, but the observing. I spend a lot of time observing.

Agreed, for me its a lot of feeding and observing. I have Basket Starfish, so I need to make sure they are getting enough food everyday. I try to feed my basket starfish 5+ times a day.
