Could dream tank work?

Hello all currently I have a biocube 29 and I'm just about to finish up high school so this dream tank might be a good decade down the road or so. But one of my dream tanks designs would be to connect 3 55 gallon tank which all would be reef of course. I would setup each one with their own filtration/sump, so basically setting up 3 55g or more I'm now sure how many gallons I should do, but setting all 3 up with their own sump and all that but the only different thing is they would all be connected by clear PVC to allow the fish to travel from one tank to the other. I'm not sure that this could be done but I think it would be cool to have different rockwork and different corals and fish in each tank. So anyone think this would work? If so I'll create a modle of it and upload the blueprints

You can do what ever you want to do, and this sounds very interesting...I would however, plumb them all into the same sump since they will all share the same water.

Also, I would reccomend using a tank other than a 55...I think 3 75g tanks (maybe 3 90's??). Would give your fish more swimming room and allow for better aquascaping

Sure it could work. It'll just have more equipment costs and more leaking issues then one tank. Not wanting to crush your dreams but I'd just do one big tank or even a biGGer one"¦
