There as been some signs of aggresion between horses of different species but the threat is not great. Greater threat is bacterial from exposing different spieces of syngnathids to each other.
Temp depends on species. Most "tropical" horses should be kept between 69-74F IMO.
Pipes depend on the species as well, some do well i a reef environment.
To add to what pledosophy said, I just read a paper about a seahorse species in Portugal. It was found that the keep regular territories, but do not defend against other seahorses. Some territories overlap. The paper did not mention whether there was more than one species sharing the area of study.
Back when I was researching I was given a temperature range of 72-76 for Tropical horses. I keep mine a little warmer than what Kevin recommends.
Most pipes and seahorses that you can get at your local LFS should get along relatively well although I have seen horses harass pipes by constantly trying to hitch a ride on them. The biggest problem in my experience is the potential disease spread as already mentioned.
