The last one I had 2 years ago I modded out the Rio 600 to the MJ1200 and wasn't satisfied with the skimmate,so modded it out with a Rio 800 and got good skimmate. The MJ1200 needs a different impeller in my opinion to really work on a Bak-Pak.

I dont know about that... I have had a CPR for years, and I never was really happy with it... I never had algae problems, so I just let it run like it was... I recently brought it to the office and put it on the 55 here... The tank was in bad need of skimming, and that RIO POS did not do well... I had a MJ laying around, I think it was a 900 or whatever is just below the 1200... I just stuck the venturi hose in the end of the small guard that comes in the box... The one that u use if you are not running and under gravel filter... Anyway this thing has pulled more nasty crap than it ever has in its 4 years in my possession... I thought, oh it is just cause the tank was nasty, but that was a couple of months ago, and it is still making me wanna puke still... AAAghhh!! it smells horrible
