Cracked JBJ 24 gal. Nano

It’s 1:30 am and I just got back from cleaning up my friends family room floor. His 24 gallon Nano cube cracked top too bottom in the front left corner. Water leaked into his power strip causing it to short out and fill family room with smoke. We put the rock and sand in a cooler with a power head and heater, fish went to my sump. So far no casualties. Anyone had any dealings with JBJ with replacing tanks? Tank is about a year old, I’ve read threads about these tanks cracking. He’s going to check with the LFS where he bough it, but my guess is they will tell him he has to deal with JBJ,

Good luck...JBJ is not the easiest company to deal with. I'd say he's going to have to pay for a new tank.

I'm thinking the same thing. It's sad this company does not stand by their product. Chances are he will say the heck with it and get out of the hobby.

Boy, that doesn't sound good with what everyone is saying. Sounds like it is time to upgrade!:D

JBJ products suck big times. I just had to return a defective JBJ Viper metal halide lamp. They even forgot to machine thread one of the clamps

A friend just had his 12gal cracked the same way and called JBJ about it. They just basically said you’re out of luck in a less direct way.

I’ve also heard of many others who have called them about the crack issue and they will come up with all kinds of excuse not to replace the tank.

“Your stand was un even”
“a rock fell over and cracked it”
“ Your warrantee period is over”
