Cracked tank

Hey guys....need advice please! Got a great deal on a 34G Solana tank and all the bling with it. Finally got around to putting tank on stand and notice a crack in one corner (hence the deal:sad2.......I know that it's possible to seal a tank but I'm concerned that with pressure of water and substrate that this will not hold.....please tell me your opinions. It can always be a terrarium at worst :facepalm:

I will give you the advice they gave me , I also had a crack tank that i bought new and never notice it was crack 1 year later.....Not worth the risk on the long run and the amount of money in livestock if something bad happens...Reptile tank it's your best bet, mines I'm going to use it to practice drilling holes on it.... GL

GULP!! Abort mission!!! Abort Mission!!! haha jk. On a serious note, I would be scared to fill it. If you have some kind of professional aquarium place near by I would take it to them and see what they think. I'm not talking about petco, I am talking a place that makes tanks or makes tank modifications.

I agree about not worth the risk. I definitely wouldn't use it myself. The photo looks more like a chip than a crack which I would think would have a better chance holding than a crack. I'm not an engineer though.

It does look more like a chip but had water 'dotting' along the crack line...LOL....I had to ask but pretty much knew the answer....argh!! Thanks

Give its location you could probably safely silicone in a piece of 1/2" thick glass on the bottom of the tank up against the corner where the chip is at that would safely prevent it from failing. You would need to use a structural silicone like Momentive RTV or GE SCS1200
RTV 103 is black silicone and 108 is clear silicone.

+1 we're talking peanuts compared to the cost to repair the damages 34 gallons of water laying on your floor will do.
