CRA's Batfish

Hey, this is my first time posting in this forum section in a while, but the last couple of times I went to CRA I noticed their amazing batfish. Does anyone know how long he has had it? I found it online and read they don't do to well in captivity and I was just wondering if anyone had any information on his.
Thanks

It has not been there for all that long. John periodically brings in livestock that are unusual but do not live long in captivity.

I'm sure Johnny would tell you if you asked. It seems like he's had it a few weeks at least...but my memory's not what it used to be

Yeah I ment to do that last time I was there but forgot to.

It's a Pinnatus Batfish.I seen it last weekand it catches your eye as soon as you walk in. He said it was hard to keepand the older it gets it loses some of its vibrance.

On a side not I got to see Brandon2432's setup tonight and and it is awesome. I left there with a couple corals and tank envy. I need a bigger tank!

HAHA Mercury, on one hand you get all mad cause someone has a tank and you wanna get there with yours, but at the same time you know there is an inspiration there. I have enjoyed this site since I have joined. Everyone is helpful and doesn't mind taking time to answer questions you have. I like seeing other tanks and filtration set ups for good ideas and all.

Unfortunately the Batfish passed. I saw it was missing last weekend when I picked up my tank and John told me about it. Real bummer as that was a very unique fish.

Aww man, well what kind of tank did you get?

Yeah I guess mad was an overstatement. I sometimes get frustrated when people like my dad or brother can literally throw something in a tank and it takes off, and I can't even get my xenia to grow properly. I do know what you mean about tank envy. I have seen some tanks that will keep you in a daze for a long time.

I now have a 120Gal Oceanic Tech tank, with tech stand and 40gal breeder sump along with 48" 2x250w Outer Orbit with 4x54 T5 actinics. Love it! Have to go by CRA and pick up my Imperator Angel tomorrow.

You putting the angel in with other corals?

Yes, I have a Coral Beauty that has been a model citizen and the Imperator is an Angel I have wanted forever. Also getting a mated pair of clowns and probably some other inhabitants today. I need to updated my sig I guess.

Imperator angel is known to nip corals. It also gets to be 15 inches long. It will be fine for a while in your 120 if you get a baby one, but you might need a 240 in the not so distant future...
