crazy idea?

I was wondering if anyone has ever done this....there are a few fish I really like (flame angel and one or two of the butterflies) that aren't reef safe. I'm not willing to take the risk of putting one in a reef tank, but fish only tanks seem so empty with just fish and rocks. Would it be crazy to take a couple of the cheap, grow-like-weeds corals (ie gsp and pulsing xenia) and let them take over a tank and then use it as a tank for these not reef safe fish? I think it could look cool.

Yeah it would work but you might eventualy have no coral. Flame angels are usualy fine with corals from what I have heard and some times butterflys are ok with coral. I would go with tree corals easy to take care of and grow like weeds and are not super expensive(25-40).
