well after 3 months of my 20L softie tank i want to upgrade to a sps tank and would like everyones input on my set up. tell me if i am missing anything or if i should change anything or just tell me that my set up looks good. any input is appreciated!

Tank: 40 gal breeder
Sump: 20L with fuge
Skimmer: octo 110
Lighting: 6x39wat T5s with slr reflectors
Bulbs: 1xge6500, 2xgiesemann11000k, 1xB+, 2x supper actinic

Circulation
quiet one 3000(return pump)-estimated about 500gph after head loss
the return will be comeing out of two outlets.
2x mj1200-590gph

for a total of 1090gph which comes out to about 27x turnover (too much?)

I will be using a ssb and dosing kalkwasser
i will aslo be using 16# of lr (transfering from old tank) and around 20# of base rock. I will also be testing for calcium and all that fun stuff with salifert test kits

3 months experience and your tired of softies already :D

IMO flow is too low . Also unless you have done your homework and have the time and effort it can be a bumpy road. It took me a few years to get sps to color now its no problem .

Best adivce is to read the stickies @ the top of the forum.

lol yea i know prob set a record or something
it was probably due to seeing your and kirstens tanks :eek1:

i plan on doing a lot of research. this i just kinda to make sure im headin down the right direction. it will prob be 2-3 months before i actualy have everything all together.

thanks for the advise. i'll look into a maxi-jet mod to get my flow up.
