Crocea clam

I bought a Crocea clam on the weekend (aug 25) and placed it in my tank. The first couple of days it opened up just fine. Now it only opens up half way and the fringes hardly extend out at all. I have a sixty gallon tank with a 20 gal sump. The tank is 6 months old and I have a coralife lighting system with 2 actinics and a 250 watt HQI (14,500 K). The tank is approx 24" deep and I have it on the bottom of the tank. My tank is populated with chromis (3), foxface, regal tang, coral beauty, firefish and a neon goby. My tank also has several SPS, acro's etc. I have a calcium reactor and the level of calcium last measured was 400 mg/l and carbonate was 180 mg/l. Temp is a constant 27.5 deg C (81 deg F). Any suggestions?

Hows the flow around the clam? They seem to prefer somewhat lower flow. Have you inspected the clam for pyramid snails? These are tiny little white snails, they tend to hide during the day coming out at night. During the day check around the byssal opening under the clam. It could also be pinched mantle I dont know to much this. Can you post a picture? Try posting in the clam forum your clam problem may get a little more personal attention there.
