Crocea won't open

Have a 4" crocea that I have had about a month now. Started it out on the sand and then last week or so, I moved it up onto the rock. It sits about 12" below the halides in the middle of the tank. Was fine for about 5 days and then today and yesterday it has remained closed. About 3/4 inch of mantle is exposed through the top. Getting worried about it.

Any ideas?

One day my crocea stopped opening up, took me a while but I found out my blenny was biting at it. Perhaps one of your fish is bothering it?

In the month I have had it had not had a fish pick at it since then. Could a fish start doing it?

I will try to post up a picture.

Here is a picture of it with the Actnics on. Halides went off about 10 mins ago.

Have you checked for pyramidellid snails that prey on clams? Also do a search on pinched mantle. I can't tell from the pic but that might be it. You can try a fresh water dip (RO water) for 5 minutes. That might help.

I'll check for snails, and I posted it up on the Clam Forum.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Make sure you check the foot of the clam for the pyramid snails.
