I am curious for those that have them what else you have in your tank as well as in wich order they went in. If I were to buy a pair of these, I am assuming they would be the last to go in?

Bebo77 how are they towards your Anthias?

They should be last to go in, except if you have big tangs. A big sohal or clown could easily harrass a crosshatch until it dies/starves. Sounds unlikely but will happen if the tang is established. Crosshatches dont fight, and will most likely hide until they die if someone pesters them whenever they come out.

I will let you know but the best was about 1 hour after I put her in the tank she tried to go into a cave that is owned by a coral banded. I thought here we go....the banded pinched the crosshatch right in the nose. Poor fish it hasn't gone near that cave again.

I have abother question. What size tanks are you guys housing these in? The pair I am contemplating are around 6-7" currently. I have a 240 that is 72x30x26. The rock is open all the way around, so there is plenty of swimming space.

Mine is a 150 set up with three piller reefs and plenty of swimming room for them. I think you are fine.

I have my crosshatches in a 210 with clowns, mandarin, and an anthia and lineatus wrasse. They have never even once shown any interest in bothing any of these comparitively smaller fish (my male clown is only about 1" or 1.5"). However, my male devoured eight chromis in about 3 days. I have 4 cleaner shrimp, and few peppermints, and starfish- no problems whatsoever. Actually, the cleaners swarm the male at night.

Thanks for all the info guys. I have decided not to pursue these for my tank, just not sure they are a good fit. I did however come across a beautiful pair of Crosshatch's that I am now not going to get. Should anyone else be interested, pm me for details.

A full week in my tank and no fatalities. She is actually quite cool as added some movement to the reef.

zemuron- I doubt it. if they came into the open water at all, they were targeted. My chromis never did much social swimming, my anthia would always scatter them, so they were very individual anyway. Once the triggers went in though, if they weren't in the rocks, they were dead. I was only able to catch 1 before the trigger finished off the rest.
