CRP Refugium

We have used these at the shop before. They make a nice small refugium, easy to setup and run if you have the room to hang it on your tank. We are working on some new improved lighting options for it as well, probably 2-3 weeks away.

I have the smallest on that CPR makes. Its on my 55g. Took about 4weeks to finally start working.
Really to fianlly get established. My greens are starting to grow and all algea in the tank is starting to reside. Slowly.
What i think was the improvment was swithcing from the stock rio 200 to a rio 600, more movement and it really took off then.
Hope this helps! :fish1:

What did you do for lighting on your refugium? I think the lighting that I have now is not suffiecient. I am trying to upgrade it, but I am not sure what options I have. It is on the back of my tank, so I need something that will actually stand on the refuge.

hi,

If not in a big hurry, we are waiting for new powercompact lights that will sit right on the refugium with some little plastic stands, will be 12" 13watt, 18" 18watt and 24" 36watt.

I put the smallest one on a 5.5. nano....it cracked the back glass........wasnt happy, but I made a stand for it, and it works fine now.

No I am not in a huge hurry. I currently am using one of these lights:

Thing is that I don't think my macros are getting enough light. I have the 18 watt one. I am concerned about lighting because I don't see my macros growing very well. I had one sprout, but it keeps dying on me.

So those lights that the link had will be like the ones premium aquatics are getting? I went to Ameka Aquatics.com and saw some clap on lights that looked nice but they were 100$.
