There as so many Ctenochaetus (bristletooth tang) spp. available to hobbyists right now that it is difficult to know which to chose. I know that a lot of people own them so I am hoping that some of you will share photos of your bristletooth, let us know what species it is, and tell us a little bit about it (is it constantly on the move? always picking on the rocks or glass? have a favorite algae? accept nori? did it settle in right away? is it aggressive or peaceful?) Anything at all -- I'm sure I am not the only person who is interested. Thanks.

I've had a tomini for over 4 years now. He was very skinny when first purchased, and wouldn't eat anything. He did constantly rasp on the glass and bottom of the tank. He would not even rasp on the rocks until much later. Eventually I got him to eat pre-soaked, crushed up flake as a first food. He did finally learn to rasp off the rocks, and take larger food items. He doesn't eat nori. He only poops in the front left corner of the tank

I have a tomini also. Don't have any pics, but he looks just like the one above. Some places call them oringe fin tangs. He's one of my favorite fish. He spends his whole day picking at the rocks and glass. At first he only went for the glass like Peter's. Mine won't touch algea on the sand though. But my rocks are spotless in my 180. I've had him about a year. Great fish

My tomini is a little more polite as he only poops in the back corner of the tank.:lmao:

2 spot....just picked her up from a friend that was tearing down a tank....still very shy, paces the back glass picking at it....she did eat spirulina brine shrimp last night.

he only eats nori that comes with Rod's Herbivore blend, and even then I think its just because he gulps at everything that comes out of the turkey baster. He picks at film algae a lot (leaves kiss marks everywhere) but doesn't touch hair algae or any macroalgae that is actually growing on the rocks. He will eat all types of carnivorous foods, from cyclopeeze to mussel.
