Cube Nano SPS - Zeovit Powered!

Hi everyone,

I would like to share my cube nano build process, it's been running for 3 months. So far I've managed to keep it stable and healthy, nearly half of the SPS were transfered from my 450Gallons tank, it was almost brownish in color at that time, now nearly 70% of SPS had already recovering back.

My experience in using Zeovit as my prime system had proven to be easy, stable, and enjoyable ones.

bellow are some images of the tank that I took last week, enjoy.

Nano Cube Specs:

60 x 60 x 60cm (50 Gallon/200 Litres)
65 x 45 x 45cm (Sump)
12 x 24 Watts T5HO (4 ati Blue+ & 6 ati Blue Sp & 2 ati purple+)
BBK Mini 180
2 x Vortech MP 40ESW (Side&Rear)
Profilux 4 Dosing Pump + Grotech Balling System
Aquapharm Carbon (Fluidizer)
Return Pump AquaProject 2300
Zeovit Reactor (Zeolite 400gr) with Auto Flush
Full Zeovit Supplement System
Chiller 1hp running with pump

Frag Tank Specs:

100 x 60 x 35cm (47Gallon/180Litres)
Sump shared with cube_nano
2 x 112D Ecoray LED (120 Watts each)
2 x Tunze 6045 + Tunze 6085

Please enjoy the picture, I think it's still a long way to transform this tank into a mature and nice SPS tank.

This is my second tank (being the first is my 450Gallons 300x75x75cm), but now I enjoyed my smaller cube tank more than that giant. :fun2:

Nice setup! What type of Zeo reactor do you use?

Thank you, it's a simple DIY zeoreactor made by my friend, a local reefer
It has open top with water fall freely from the top. Driven with 300lt small pump.
Then I connect the upper pipe into with larger 2000lt/hr pump, set with digital timer. When this larger pump trigger on, it will automaticly shake the zeolith.
Saves me from manually shake the reactor.

I'll poost some images later on.
Thanks

Beautiful tank. Can you kindly identify the blue sps in the second to last picture? I would love to see pictures of your setup. Zeovit systems have been really gaining my interest lately.

Sorry but I don't know what species of Acropora spp is that. This is my first time also receiving acropora in that color.

I'll post some of my setup pictures later on, when I have time. based on my experiences Zeovit does good job maintaining my tank at ULNS, as my tank now just 3 motnhs old, It really made a difference compare to my previous tank (and my previous tank cost me almost 15K, compare with this cube nano, cost me only a fraction).

What is important with zeo method is consistency and dedication with dosing schedule. Spent arround 5 minutes/day and you will see great result with it. Off course I dont want to say other methods won't work. I believe every method has its own benefit and success.

Zeovit Reactor (Zeolite 400gr) with Auto Flush

Is the light fixture diy?
Skimmer selection your more than stripping your system
2 mp40's at what setting? Small tank for 2
love 2 see a picture of your reactor, how long is your auto flush timer set at?
What Zeovit supplements?

Love the tank!

Hi there,

the light fixture is cheap brand, named Aquazonic (i think it's made in asia).
one thing certain this fixture had low quality ballast, and the light output from my ati was not as bright as those fixture with high quality ballast.

I'm planning to swap all my T5 into LED in near future, It seems that my ecoray led had shown some real improvement to my sps after a month. So I'll give another 3 more months to see how's LED perform.

Do you mean my skimmer oversized my tank? I think after I combined together with my frag tank, total volumes is 400lt (the skimmer max capacity is 750lt).

My mp40 runs at reef crest mode, with almost maximum power, surprisingly I found it not overly chaotic at all. The flow more like linear and very wide, inside the tank sometimes I wondered whether it's enough or not.

I flush my zeo reactor twice, one hour each, before and after my lights on/off.

I used mainly;

zeostart3 - 1x daily 0.6ml
mb7 - 3 drops daily
phol's Ex - 3ml daily
AAHC+CV - 4 drops 3x/week
PIF+K Balance Strong - as needed
Stylo-Pocci-Glow - 4 drops 3x/week
SP - 2 Drops daily
CS - 2ml 3x/week

Hope this helps.
regards,

njadik, what are you going to do with all those frags?

Honestly I don't know yet, but some of my local reefer friends purchase coral from me occasionally.

my main purpose of setting this frag tank, is as a temporary care tank, until my peninsula (400G) tank ready, as it may takes another 6 months until my new house ready, before I can start build a new tank.

In long term I hope I can encourage my reefer colleague to purchase aquaculture sps, instead of wild one. :lmao:

I'm not sure I would consider a 50g tank being a "nano" but it sure is nice looking.

I know it's not really a nano tank (being over 100lt), but compare to my previous tank, it did looked very small indeed. :lolspin:

actually cube_nano is my nick name on other forum, so I just used it here as thread heading.

As promised,

This is the picture of my sump, it's simple and pretty straight forward.

Wow what a fantastic setup you have:)I am on about getting SPS only nano i was thinking size wise 500 to 550cm cube tank. Also on my last setup I was running MM with lots of algae I had a few SPS in which did very well but this time I want better colour so I want to go down the Zeovit route so on a tank that size would my dosing be the same has yours also can you run carbon in a filter sock or as it got to be in a reactor.

Any help would be fantastic:)

Thank dan

Regarding the placement of carbon, I think you can use both ways. for me the problem placing the carbon on filter sock, is that sometimes I get lazy to shake it twice a day, so I prefer to use fluidizer reactor.

Also I already had this reactor before hand, so im making good use of it.

There's many different dosage for zeovit method, maybe it's best for you to start from smaller dose, and run higher week after week, based on your on going observation. If it's good enough already, then just leave it with your current dosing, please do not overdose it, I did once and it almost kills half of my coral within 2 days, take a great cautions with zeospur2, in low nutrient system it's extremely powerful, start dosing half of the recommended.

hope this helps, and good luck with your new tank.
