Cucumbers peeling (with pics)

My husband has 2 cucs that came with his TBS package. They have been in the tank for about a month. We just did a water change yesterday morning, and now they are peeling and look like this. I didnt know if cucs molt or peel, but I need to know if this is normal. Any help would be wonderful!

cukes will shed their skin from time to time. its normal.

Since I posted this thread last night, I think both of the cucs have died. Im certain one did. It got stuck in a powerhead and got badly chewed up. The other one is very deflated and hard. I moved the whole one into our QT so Ill wait and see if he is a goner. Since atleast one of them died in the tank, what should I be prepared to do? This would happen to hubby's tank when he is out of town.... Grrr! Im making up ro/di for a water change as we speak. Anything else I need to do?

Can you throw some fresh carbon in? Or you might want to wet skim if that's an option.

We just put in new carbon on Sunday, and the skimmer has been running nonstop, so thats covered. I just dont know what else to do...

That's about all you can do. Just do a water change and hope for the best.
