I got a 12 Gallon Aquapod nano, and i was down visiting my parents and the fish store here is selling small clams that are around the size of a quarter. He said that they were aquacultured Tridacna Clams, and that they are fine under power compacts, is this true?

at that size they are mainly filter feeders, and will need to be directly feed with phyto. However, when they grow they will need a lot more light. I"ve never grown one from that size, so I'm not sure where the transition is, hopefully someone else will know...

that thing will suck up more calcium then you can supply to the tank, not to mention like someone said they will need to be fed because at that size they are strictly filter feeders
