Curing rock

Have some rock in a large tub of salt water outside which I hope to use in my new tank which is arriving on Friday.
I will be transferring my current set up into the new tank which will be in the same location.
As it's a bigger tank I intend to use the rock from the bucket outside as part of the display. However I dont think I will be able to use the rock anytime soon.

It has been in a container of salt water without light for a long time, 6 months plus but only this last week with a powerhead a heater. But the heater is not up to it with the cold weather and last I checked was only at 17 degrees.

I have been testing ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite the last few days.
0.1 nitrate 0 ammonia and 10 nitrate

I am not sure If I am already someway through the process? Or if it's not really started yet due to not being up to temperature.

Any thoughts appreciated

Likely totally fine to combine that rock with already cycled rock and not need to wait..

The cold rock will not contribute excessive amounts of ammonia by itself to the new setup.. As long as you aren't planning on heavily stocking the tank from the start all should be just fine.. The current tank rock will have enough bacteria to process the existing bioload.

That's good news thank you.
