Current light setup...coral??

If its for your 37g. that your working on, you could only keep softies. Mushrooms, zoo's, leathers, etc. How many watts is the lamp?

Yea that light set-up is on the 40g, which I'm redoing but soon ready for the coral to be put in.

Daylight 96w
Actinics 96w

and plus lunar but that doesn't matter

Mushrooms, Polyps and Softies would be best I think. LPS and SPS are out due to intensity and wattage

Alright, should I add the coral first or fish?

Also what you think good fish would be to start out with? I had damn damsels in there at first and even though there nice looking they killed alot of other fish I had so no more damsels for me lol

Go with non agressive corals first, then followed byt he least agressive reef safe fish, up to the most agressive last.

I use the same Currunt USA Orbit fixture on my 40g mixed reef. My coral inhabitant list is below on my 'interests'. I keep polyps, softies, lps, and select sps with this fixture. Most important when you get into more demanding corals is keeping up with alkalinity and calcium demand and keeping nitrates and phosphates low, or bettter yet zero.

View my gallery to see. The only thing I've added was a hammer. All corals doing nicely. ;)

Here's an Orange Monti Cap I keep in the tank. Select sps is possible to keep under pc lighting. Again, water chemistry is a MUST. ;)

Alrite thanks!!!! I'm going to check out your gallery right now. Were did you get your ro/di from and what size?? and whats Randy's 2part mean? I'm looking at what you got to see ideas

For RO/DI units I recommend either the Spectrapure MaxCap or the Ocean Wave/Reef from www.thefilterguys.biz The MaxCap is the best bar none. If you are on a budget you can get a quality unit from The Filter Guys.

Randy's 2-part is a homeade 2-part suppliment designed by Randy Holmes-Farley, our 'retired' reef chemistry mod. It suppliments your alkalinity and calcium loss from demanding corals. Works great and is waaay cheaper than buying commercial brands like B-Ionic.

Water chemistry is vital in a small system such as mine. Keeping up on alk/ca demands are a must as the corals strip the water of it daily. ;)

what is a good non aggressive coral to start off with?

And im guessing that means start with coral first before fish?

I think softies are really easy and most are non-aggressive. A toadstool, kenya tree, colt, etc are all easy to get started with. You could also do mushrooms and green star polyps but in the right conditions can grow fairly agressively. :)

drummereff if I get the filterguys RO/DI unit is this the unit you were saying, Ocean Wave Five Stage 75GPD? or no
