Current USA prime chiller opinions wanted

Are the Current USA Prime chillers good? I'm looking at the 1/4 hp tower model.

It is considerably cheaper than the Arctica 1/4 hp (I have their 1/10hp, and it does a really good job), so I was wondering what people's experiences were like.

I'm wating for my 1/3 HP Prime Tower Chiller from Drs. Foster and Smith. They are having the Red Tag Sale 15% Off. I was looking for a 1/4 JBJ but ended up with a 1/3 hp Prime tower chiller for less than the 1/4 JBJ.

So far so good. I used one of the inckuded 1" adapters and it's hard to get the tubing in. Go buy adapters from the hardware store.

It's pretty quiet but I'll write a review in a few days. It's in my bedroom, lols.

For what it is worth, I know two people who have had them for a couple months, both got the 1/4hp tower, and are very happy. Mine 1/3hp tower will be here tomorrow based on their experience.

What pump did you buy to go with it?? I was looking at getting the JBJ but the price different isnt worth it especially with the new increase in price that JBJ has added. Before i buy it i need to get a pump for it too, any ideas??

There was a recent JBJ increase? I think there was a decrease.. you can get the 1/10 HP chiller for cheaper than when I bought mine half a year ago.

I'm going to use a Mag 5 with my 1/3 hp chiller because I have an extra lying around.

I think that pump's output is higher than the maximum recommended flow rate through the chiller (360-720gph).

Well i don't know if it's industry wide but last week when i was pricing chillers out the 1/10 JBJ was $399 at Dr's Foster and now it's been bumped up to $499. However Petsolutions still has them at the reduced price so i might buy it there but the extra boost in price makes them not worth it at all and the current would be a better unit.

Ahh I see. If I had the extra money, I would have gone with the JBJ based on my experience.
Their OEM in Korea (Daeil) is highly regarded internationally.

Yes, the PS3 is rated a little bit higher, but after plumbing and head adjustments, and a gate valve, I will be able to adjust the flow to the exact flow that I find is most efficient.
