Cutting Frogspawn

ok i have a frogpawn that is on a very long stem that look like some branches have been cut off or died away. My question is can i cut some of that stem so it is shorter for placing on a rock. and if so how high up can i go? PIC below:

You can cut it if you wish, won't hurt it.
Just don't cut too short.
I keep my frogspawn/hammer mid to upper height, but of course it is totally dependent on lights.
Start it on the bottom, move up over time and see how it responds.
You can always lower it.

You should be able to see a pretty clear line between soft tissue and boney structure. You want to cut below that line. Preferably enough below that line to leave a stony stem that can be glued or buried in substrate without irritating the soft tissue.

As Mark9 siad, you can always trim more later, you can't add back other than waiting for it to grow.

Just be careful when cutting the skeleton as they grow so fast they are often very brittle and if your using something like coral cutters, you could easily break the skeleton right up the middle and into the flesh. It's better to use a tile cutter or similar as it cuts safer.
I also wouldn't go too high up as you don't want the flesh touching the substrate as this can lead to bacterial infections. It's also better to leave it longer as when they branch they tend to ball and if it's too short this makes thing harder for it.
